Pleasure doing business with you

Back again,

It really made my day yesterday when the band, "Aries", sent me an email with the digital version of their promotional flyer attached to it. It turned out rather nicely. Very simple and gives all the necessary details for their upcoming shows. I do appreciate Rob's (the one whom I corresponded with during this time) punctual response and I do hope to do further business with them in the future.

The flyer design belongs to Aries band and background artwork belongs to me.

Finished: Adele Sozzi

Hey guys,

Named after a female Assassin Recruit from the game, "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood", she is the latest piece that I have finished drawing in my spare time. Amidst the filming that I am doing for a class project, I am glad to have had this finished today, considering I started the pencil work for her on Sunday.

The medium I used is coloured pencils, because I decided to have a change of pace from inks and markers. Though I did use a couple of nylon tip pens to have some sharp lines in this one. Unfortunately, being an A3 piece, the camera I used did not give it justice (you can barely see the left foot, but it's there)

In my work, I try to experiment with two particular elements in each piece. In this drawing of Adele Sozzi, I practised more on the female posing and anatomy, as well as using complementary colours to throw off the blank and sterile look of the white. I'm happy with how this turned out, but there's always room for improvement.

Assassino Adele Sozzi

Besides the Ax'Ranthael drawing that I had put on hold, I will be drawing an Assassin's Creed based OC, which belongs to a Deviant named "xXOnigamiXx" (http://xxonigamixx.deviantart.com/) and I will be experimenting more on the dynamics of the piece and further honing my skills on the female anatomy.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

Wow! Another one...

Good evening,

Been fair busy with project work for a short film that I have not done much progress on the Ax'Ranthael. However, I got home today to check my DeviantART account to find a note asking me the following (and I quote):

"... We will be having a conference in Berkeley CA in 2012, Mythcon 43, conference theme is East Meets West and I'm playing with the idea of a Chinese dragon & steam engine worked together into a logo - would you consider allowing your work to be incorporated in this way?

BTW, "no, thanks" is a perfectly good answer!"

This is the art piece of concern. Xuanlong the Black Dragon. Perhaps my best and liberal penwork that has been drawn on paper.

So... I've noticed that my dragon pieces seem to be drawing the most attention, as well as the style of lineart and hatching that I have using pen and ink. Majority of the time, that is my most preferred medium as I have full control of the pen and the strokes. But then again, as long as you can deliver results, you'll be right.

I plan to look further into this style and subject matter as it is the most appealing of my pieces in DeviantART.

I've had some talks with people and my teachers about charging people for using my work, but I dunno how to go about telling or asking the people who wish to use my work... I'm going to ask around a bit more. See what I can learn.

Ciao

Today was a good day

Just a quick recap of today,

I haven't finished the inking job for my Ax'Ranthael drawing, as the week's rolled in again, it's back to work on the short film project that I have lined up in my course.

But something else came around and became the highlight of my day. An American Band by the name of "Aries" has asked permission to use this particular drawing of mine (that they saw in my DeviantART account) which they will incorporate to a flyer promoting their upcoming show:

If you would like to know about the band, the link to their website is http://www.ariesrocks.com/#! and their facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/AriesHardRock?sk=wall

This is perhaps my first real exposure out there in the real world with my artwork, so I'm really stoked and excited about this opportunity. Hopefully there will be more opportunities like this to come in the near future. Just got to keep that pencil sharp and keep on drawing.
